KELLY WHELAN

KELLY WHELAN

Kelly is a recovering lawyer turned homeschool mom whose journey into education began decades ago while working at summer camps. Those early experiences showed her that learning doesn’t have to be confined to classrooms — it can be joyful, hands-on, and found in the everyday moments of life. She carries that belief into everything she does today, whether it’s guiding kids through new discoveries or encouraging curiosity in unexpected places.

Kelly has a deep love for the outdoors and believes nature is one of the best teachers. You’ll often find her in the garden, tending vegetables or nurturing native plants, and sharing her passion for the natural world with children and families. She delights in helping kids make connections between what they see in the wild and what they grow in the soil, sparking wonder and respect for the environment.

A creative spirit at heart, Kelly enjoys experimenting with art projects that don’t always go as planned, as well as science experiments that sometimes surprise her as much as the kids.
